The papier-mache figures are hand sculpted or made using Susan’s extensive collection of moulds. She has perfected a technique that brings to life the old images of St. Nick and other characters. The moulds have varied origins and had many uses. Most sought after are the antique chocolate and candy moulds. The nostalgic Belsnickels and Pere Noels are some of our favorites. Each figure is carefully painted, antiqued, and sealed. Some are holding bits of greenery, tinsel, or may be dusted with glittering mica flakes and snow. All are signed and dated by the artist for authenticity. Susan’s papier-mache Christmas figures were featured in Better Homes & Gardens “Santa Claus Collection” volume III.
